Allie- you need good teacher support

Hi Allie,


If you received poor support at your community college, then they are probably not that good.  But, I'd talk to the person who teaches the class before I gave up on them.  It could be a matter of a clerk who didn't care enough and not a teacher problem.  Good teachers made all the difference during my educations.


We require a teacher or counselor for every 6 to 10 students when we staff by training.  We prefer experienced MTs be the contact person and teacher.  Everyone wants to train at home now.  But, except for the gifted, we all need teachers to help us when we get stuck.  IMO, students don't get stuck in anatomy, physiology and terminology.  They get stuck typing, doing good research and handling their computer correctly.  They get lost in the templates and software too.  Ideally, it would be nice to have a mentor, if not; you at least need to be sure you get a teacher for the transcription typing part of your lessons.
