1. Q: Are you living paycheck-to-paycheck? Defined: Missing one paycheck would seriously harm your basic living (housing, food, utilities or necessary meds/medical care).
A: Definitely. On both accounts.
2. Q: If you lost your job today, without warning, do you think you could be employed again within 1 payperiod?
A: Only if I wanted to work for one of those huge, 'McTranscription' companies which pay even less than I'm making now.
3. Q: Do you have an emergency fund in case a loss of job happens?
A: I used to. But over the past few years I had to keep siphoning funds out of it because even though I work full-time, the pay isn't enough to get by on. I expect to be in rather deep doo-doo by the end of this year.
