If all you do is office dictation, then you might lose it to an EHR. Hospital dictation, though, is much more difficult to "automate." No field remains stagnant. You have to constantly upgrade your abilities to keep up and stay employed. If you can't do acute care dictation, why not consider upgrading to it? It will be around a lot longer and can enable you to switch into coding, documentation improvement and review, and other developing areas in health care.
