I've only spent six months working for one company, and in that time had 1 primary with 2 secondaries, that each eventually became my primary for a short time. I could not get line count. Would have to work 12 hours to hit 1000 lines, and that was with Edit mode jobs included. I've 7 years experience with my main income doing transcription for one hospital in 8 departments doing pretty much all work types; the home transcription was a side job to bring in extra money since I already know transcription.
My experience showed me that there is too much politics in the companies and that if you want to make any real money, you will have to figure out how to become an "independent" independent contractor, i.e. going out and finding your own physicians to type for. Upon researching one service, I discovered that the company charges the physician under contract 22 cents a line. This may not be universal, but it opened my eyes considerably. |
