ONE LIGHT BULB AT A TIME

>    A physics teacher in high school, once told the students that while one grasshopper on the railroad tracks wouldn't slow a train very much, a billion of them would. With that thought in mind, read the following, obviously written by a good American .

>    Good idea ... one light bulb at a time ...

>    Check this out. I can verify this because I was in Lowes the other day for some reason and just for the heck of it I was looking at the hose attachments. They were all made in China. The next day I was in Ace Hardware and just for the heck of it I checked the hose attachments there. They were made in USA. Start looking...

>   In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else - even their job. So, after reading this email, I think this lady is on the right track. Let's get behind her!

>   My grandson likes Hershey's candy. I noticed, though, that it is marked made in Mexico now.  I do not buy it any more.

>   My favorite toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico.  Now I have switched to Crest. You have to read the labels on everything.

>    This past weekend I was at Kroger. I needed 60 W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets. I was in the light bulb aisle, and right next to the GE brand I normally buy was an off-brand labeled, "Everyday Value." I picked up both types of bulbs and compared the stats - they were the same except for the price.  The GE bulbs were more money than the Everyday Value brand but the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that GE was made in MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in - get ready for this - the USA, in a company in Cleveland, Ohio.

>   So throw out the myth that you cannot find products you use every day that are made right here ..

>   So on to another aisle - Bounce Dryer Sheets. yep, you guessed it, Bounce cost more money and is made in Canada. The Everyday Value brand was less money and MADE IN THE USA! I did laundry yesterday and the dryer sheets performed just like the Bounce Free I have been using for years and at almost half the price!

>   My challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for everyday things and see what you can find that is made in the USA - the job you save may be your own or your neighbors!

>   If you accept the challenge, pass this on to others in your address book so we can all start buying American, one light bulb at a time! Stop buying from overseas companies!

>   We should have awakened a decade ago.

>   Let's get with the program...help our fellow Americans keep their jobs and create more jobs here in the U.S.A.

>   I Passed this on...will you?

Go USA - Angel

I agree it begins with one, a thousand steps begins with one, I am an American and believe like you that we should speak up, or subliminally speak up by not buying products that are being made or put together by someone other than US citizens, read your labels people, we are years behind this sneaked up on us, but together we can be powerful,, read the labels and let's get together on this issue, it affects our livelihoods, from who profits from our clothes we wear to how we live, the US should also stop taking care of the world when it can't take care of its own, why is there so much unemployment, so much business going overseas due to cheap labor, the worled state as it is, it's all so bad and has to change, together we can be stronger

Buy USA - nan

I have already been doing this. The thing that gets me is that they ship jobs out of USA to save on labor costs, but the prices of these products are more money. Hmm...Doesn't make sense.

I've been reading labels for a few years. - Backwards Typist

Although I love Hershey's candy, I stopped buying it years ago when I read that they were moving some of the production to Mexico, putting USA workers out of a job.

Another thing to watch for: Frozen fish. Those packages of 'flash frozen' tilapia, salmon, flounder, etc. that come in bags usually come from CHINA.

I will buy haddock and flounder from Iceland since they have been around for years and I have no qualms with their products. I just don't trust products from China or Mexico because of all the recalls (China) and the pesticides that may be used on fresh fruits and veggies (Mexico).

Polaris just announced the closing of their plant in Wisconsin to go Mexico. This town has a population of 2500 and are losing 500 jobs. This would be a good product to boycott. Purex products are made in the USA also Florida's Natural Orange Juice, Minute Maid is not. Clorox is made in the USA but the codes are stamped on top of the location

Short Cut For List Punctuation In A Drug List? (Fluency)
Dec 06, 2014

Is there is quick way to add commas between items in a list? Of course, using Ctl K in front a word will change the punctuation, but it will also change a capitalized drug to lower case, and you will still have to get to the beginning of the next drug which will require 2 Ctl arrows and backspace. Ctl arrow takes you to the beginning of the next word, but you will have to backspace to put in the comma. Adding punctuation to lists is so time consuming! ...

If you are filling out a job application and it asks you what your last pay was at your last job, what do you put if Nuance is your last job? How do you write that? Just put 7 cpl? Then he says, "new paragraph" again and goes on with Axes II thru V.  Should I really skip to the next line even though he's still on Axis I or just make it a new sentence and keep it on the same li ...
