Is it some new management technique not to say thank you to - employees anymore? sm

I'm a high producer and self starter. I don't need hand-holding. But, geesh, it's just human nature to want to hear a sincere, individual compliment for a job well done sometimes, if for no other reason than it motivates me to do a better job and make the company more money. At some point, it seems most management has started to treat the worker bees as enemies instead of part of the team. It's short-sighted and lazy, and I know it has to be costing the company a lot in employee loyalty and increased production.

I make sure to let her know she rocks as well because middle management generally sucks.

In it, she went on and on about how some people weren't working their shifts as expected and that she was going to start taking action against them.
Then she stated: "To those of you who do work your expected schedules every day, good for you." I was stunned, as I am a high producer and work my schedule religiously. I couldn't believe her attitude towards those of us doing a good job.

[ In Reply To ..]You must work for the same company I do. I am a high-level producer, yet I never hear from them except when they want to complain about something stupid. They just sit back and keep collecting their money. At $.04 cents per line (editing) the pay is not all that good, especially in view of the fact that we are required to research countless pages of instructions/websites, etc.

I haven't been put on PM yet but fear I might. Got an email that said I had a "low-scoring feedback report." It was for using follow up instead of followup (I know better) and then omitting the word "the." Now, I will own up to these mistakes, they WERE my mistakes, but by no means life-threatening in any case. But apparently this caused my score to drop below 98%.
