Be very careful about Dell computers! Have had one in my local computer shop for TWO months now trying to find parts as Dell monopolozies their parts so you have to send the computer to them. Warranty ran out LESS THAN ONE week prior, honestly, told SOL, send to them to fix drive at over $500.00 for the drive (blue ray) plus labor, etc. The guy fixing this computer is very well known and has a great reputation for working with computers, and even he is about to pull his hair out. He cannot believe how he has been treated by Dell customer service! Oh BTW, when the original drive blew, it also took out part of the mother board, and is now causing a domino effect every time he tries to put in a new drive, so far, has burn up THREE drives. Seriously if you want to buy a Dell, make sure you keep it covered!!
Check with your local computer repair shop if you have one, can usually pick up a used or rebuilt computer for pretty cheap. Check the reputation of the shop if you can. I have bought two brand new laptops from my area shop, and they are awesome! Plus the shop gives me discounts on any upgrades, and will even fix any problems with the computers at little or no cost. |
