PT flex may just be a good way for you to go during this transition time. You should be able to work less hours to accommodate your new job and at the same time decide if it's a good fit for you. If not, you still have the Q, and you can just look for something else that will be the best for you. I am currently PT flex, and was told that I didn't need to be working so many hours. I believe 20 is the minimum, but since things change so often, you might double-check on that. You might not even have to work that many if you tell them you'll work x hours, etc.
My point here is: why not use the situation to your advantage? They certainly did the same to you for 10 years with not one penny of a raise. I've been here less than a year, but have done this for 20+ years, so I clearly understand your thoughts.
