Goodbye Medquist...it's been a loooong time...

But I won't miss 'em.  Actually I'm not gone yet but did get a new job today - YEAH - that pays 1 cpl more than MQ ever did, even after repeatedly asking for raises for the past 10+ years.   It was like a huge weight being lifted off as the recruiter told me of the new job.  AMEN.

My question to you is:  How do you leave MQ?  I have their computer, I work about 30 hours a week.  My first instinct was to just say GOODBYE and not even give notice (I'm disgusted, can you tell?) but then I thought maybe I should take it slower.  For one thing, this is the only computer I have, so until I can cough up enough money to get another one, I'm stuck.  I do have an older laptop that I'm going to try to start the new job on (so I'm not using the MQ one for both) but I know it's not going to last long (if at all).

If I went to flexible part-time, would that be a good transition?  Part-time at new job, flex part time with MQ?  I wonder how picky MQ is about flex part-time?  I need to read up on that.  Or would regular part-time be better to stick with?

And then how long before they force me to ship away my only decent computer?

Things to think about, though I must say I am very happy to see end in sight.  The recruiter I talkd to had already hired 10 other MQ people in the past two weeks.  She said the word is out that MQ is going to outsource now that CBAY has purchased them.  She said, you know, take it with a grain of salt as it's the word but I believe it.  Sad for ALL OF US HARDWORKING MT's that have given so much time to Medquist to see it end this way.  I just don't feel good about them anymore, no matter what happens.
