I worked as QA and then MT. There are bad QA individuals that should not be in that line of work, lacking experience and knowledge, as well as bad MTs who as well should not be in that line of work. On the other hand, we have more excellent QA and MT than bad I believe. With audits and QASAR back, I think eventually the bad MTs will be weeded out, and with the feedback from the MTs regarding QASAR and audit mistakes, they will eventually be weeded out as it should be. So a note to the QA and MT that are doing a super-duper job, just ignore the posts that do not regard you and do not take it so personally as just because you are doing well does not mean the others are doing things correctly. We all know if we are good or bad at what we do. I personally have learned from QASAR and like the feedback in a timely manner regarding my QA marker, but I have also had my work totally destroyed with unnecessary hyphens, commas, capitalization that is not right, putting in templates that do not belong their, etc., and those notes I send off to my QKL to review and she has dealt with it. It is the same QA person and that individual is being dealt with and I got a sincere apology from my QKL and appreciating the errors I brought to her attention. Again, this is one individual out many QA people I have check my work. By the way, I am on an account with many dictators that are on 100% QA work because of their pickiness, so get feedback daily on all the notes on a daily basis. |
