For some odd reason, I've been getting nothing but slurry-mouthed Indian dictators lately (and I'm an American MT) and have had to resort to leaving some QA notes. What I'm getting back are corrections that are obviously wrong. Some of my blanks are filled in with words that add no sense to the meaning of the sentence, and others were words or something that I heard but just didn't quite fit in with the context of the sentence. For instance, we aren't supposed to use abbreviations in diagnoses, yet one was inserted in a QA blank that I left because I could not find those initials on any search that I did, was not mentioned at all in the document, and yet the QA inserted that meaningless abbreviation in the diagnosis. Another time, a medication was used as a vowel with no other correction made to the sentence (!?) And I'm supposed to go through the appeal process for these kinds of mistakes? Oh yes, either that or have it go on my record, huh? |
