You can find a job more quickly than you would think. I was so angry I served my noticed on a Friday (did not have a job at that point) but decided I would rather clean toilets than have to work for MQ. I then began contacting companies. I had some telephone interviews (on Saturday!) and by Monday had a job. I know many MQers who have been surprised at two things: 1. That the job hunt was not nearly as daunting as they had thought it was. 2. With how decently they were treated by their new companies. Between my friends and me, we have gone to work for MDI, DRC, WebMDX, and a small assortment of individual MTSOs. Some of us did cold calling and got individual docs in our own cities who will pay very well indeed. Others of us work at home for various hospitals. The point I am making is that there ARE alternatives. I was afraid, too, because I had been with MQ for ten years. Up until the New Rewards program, I had the best managers in the business. After that program came in we had such a succession of people it was like having a resolving door. Finally when the PS I had asked me to make myself available for a conference call on my day off and I did just to accommodate her, she forgot, did not bother to call me or let me know what had happened, etc. I sat here in my office for several hours waiting for her. When I finally called her that evening she said, Oh, yeah, I fell asleep..... No apology, no nothing. At that point, I typed up my resignation and e-mailed it right in. |
