Great post. Plus the other poster was incorrect -- this is not about technological advances making a profession obsolete. This has everything to do with corporate greed at the expense of the American middle class. And that condescending ''where have you BEEN poster'' (below) should save her patronizing attitudes (if she is an MT., she is clearly a self-hating one!) MQ has hired layer-upon-layer of oh-so-slick-talking, self-impressed supervisors and managers who run interference for the higher ups--all smiling hypocrites--who repeat nonstop the company line that MT jobs were safe. So THAT'S where U.S. MTs ''have been'' -- supporting themselves and their families, having faith in their employers, while trying to support their families at a demanding, exacting job that their so-called ''superiors'' could not do in a million years and all the while the high and mighty have been busy directing THEIR noble efforts at padding their own pockets at the expense of the backbone of this industry. ''Where have you BEEN'' indeed! |
