I have worked for one company almost 20 years ago. They were bought out by this company and then merged with that company and then bought out by this company and so on. Now here I am today with Medquist, not really my choice. I was told about 2-3 months ago by my regional manager that a lot of MT's used to complain of having no work (I was not one of them) and would run out of their primary accounts, so now the National Pool was formed. I was told that the company was trying to get it under control, but right now I was in the pool for typing over 200 different accounts. The manager knows about the client profile reading and everything else when it comes to National Pool. She had tried to tell the higher ups about it and you guessed it, nothing. Finally the company is now working on trying to go from 200 accounts to about 50 accounts that I would have to type when my primary, secondary, 3rd account and so on were low in work. I asked her if she was trying to make me quit. She of course says absolutely not. Us MT's are all needed to work for this company and appreciate all we do and so on. Basically I had to learn to live with it. I was angry, upset, wanting to throw the computer out the window, cry, could not sleep, did not know what to do, and I could go on and on. I talked to my PS and told her I was making less than minimum wage and thank God I work in a state with minimum wage around $8.00 an hour which MQ has to pay me for. Finally just these last few weeks, I changed my hours to evening and now I am much happier and making more than double and even triple the amount because of getting my primary account. Also plan on going to school this fall during the days and getting out of this so called profession. I have worked every evening and EVERY WEEKEND FOR YEARS and these last three years I decided enough is enough and just worked days, but it really sucked with the cesspool for the last 5-6 months. I honestly do not know what to tell you. I do know the company is not really concerned about MT's, but more about their clients. The company is really focused on making the client happy, not MT's. I really do not mean to be negative, but stating what I was told and what I am doing now.
