I'm not at ease, just not stressed.
I don't think anyone should relax and say all is well, but there is no need to panic today either.
Each person needs to assess their particular situation. I think the time is now for some to move on (those in the pool all the time particularly) and maybe later for those who are still happy and successful, or not at all if things improve, which is also possibility.
I didn't stop to look up that quote from Mr. Hoffman, but that was the first red flag for me as well, from the very first time I read the e-mail.
