Let them pay.
Too bad a couple of years ago the house and senate voted down a bill that would include service workers in the current unemployment insurance laws that are for factory workers regarding losing their jobs to overseas competition. Factory workers get longer than 6 months of UI (double I think) and get all kinds of money to retrain in other industries.
Why did they vote it down? Because it would be too expensive. Of course when the polticians and their corporate masters talk about offshore outsourcing out of the other side of their mouths, they insist that it is only a fraction of US jobs being lost and we should not be concerned. |
