hired to work from home with an IBM Selectric. I was an RN, was a single mother with a new baby, and know how to type as my mother made me take in in high school, saying it was something to fall back on. She said the same thing about being a nurse. LOL. One out of two ain't bad, right? I went to the office, took the test, and they loaded my Selectric into my car. A courier came every day and picked up my work and delivered more tapes. I must confess that, although I felt more appreciated then, I do like not having carbons, white-out and no internet for research, and very little in the way of books for research other than my Dorland's. Things have changed in many ways that is for sure, some good and some not so good. |
