..well, first of all, you guys are cracking me up. and i agree with the lack of education of so many, and no one caring, and relying on spell check too much, which can spell, but not think.
but...sometimes, even the best Transcriptionist can be on auto-pilot and overly tired, and sometimes our fingers just type what we hear and we aren't really thinking about what the sentence means. i've embarrassed myself on a few occasions. one time, at a previous job where i knew all the docs, the dictator was very mumbly-mouthed, and i typed the patient had breath cancer, because, well, it sounded like breath, and i guess i was half asleep. we got a good laugh at that one. at my expense!!  |
