When I worked for a hospital, we had access to the patient's records and could double-check these records against what we were typing, and oftentimes the doctors were incorrect in their dictation. We then called this to the attention of our supervisor and this went directly to the doctor, and then a report was made to the hospital board. If this continued, then the doctor was accountable. Too bad we don't have that system in effect now in companies like MedQuist. |
