Well seasoned, highly adaptable professional MTs will always be needed, from my experience; however, it will be an ever-evolving role. Those who stay in this profession will need to become (1) experts in speech recognition editing and (2) super-experts in ESL dialects. They will need to be adapatable to new technology and always ask the question, How do I need to adapt to make the money I need with this new situation?
