i have 3, 3-ring binders. one is very small and has alphabetical tabs. i jot down any new words, phrases, etc in that book for quick reference. i have 2 regular size binders, one for client profiles and samples. the other for misc. QA feedback that does not apply to a specific client and a job log and misc. emails from PS and QA leader specifically. This system has worked out very well for me. I mostly use the one for client profiles which has 2 tabs for each client...one for the profile copies which have main parts highlights and hand written notes in the margin...the other section has specific samples or QA notes pertaining to that client/physician with the physician's names handwritten on the top right corner for quick flipping. I also keep electronic copies of any samples emailed to me in a folder on my desktop titled by physician name for quick reference...along with any difficult doctors...i copy and past PE, ROS, etc. when they are back from QA for quick reference next time. Even though we do not get word on our pc, you can still use the new text document to do this.
