I am doing an ESR doctor and she says, once pain was initiated her blood pressure went down. I am sure she means once pain medication was administered.... I am on a verbatim account and must type what the doctor says. I corrected something like this once and QA immediately called this to my attention and I got marked down for this. I must tell you that if you are on a verbatim account, you have to transcribe exactly what is said, and they do catch this. I think QA should give us a little more leeway in this respect. I feel like all the education and experience I got over the years is gone when I run up against something like this, and hate for my initials to be on a report like this. Someone reading this report probably thinks the MT is completely stupid and doesn't know the first thing about the English language. Sure would like to put a disclaimer on these reports like I am not responsible for what is typed here, I am only the MT and have to type exactly what the dictating physician says. |
