The 40-hour work week has to be documented for legal purposes. MQ was sued in the past by MTs for overtime (before eTime), so MQ (and other companies as well) set up systems of documenting time.
Now, why we just can't have a 10-12 hour window to do 8 hours of work is beyond me considering the nature and logistics of this job. Even if one punches in and out 10 times a day, but does their 8 hours, it seems like it would save us all (including PSs and the impact center) a lot of grief.
But the bottom line is eTime or some form of punching in and out is not going anywhere.
