I use it on all common abbreviations - such as COPD. By adding the x at the end it spells out the abbreviation. This is especially helpful in the Diagnosis section when most accounts don't allow abbreviations. It's also an easy way to remember the expansion, since it's just the regular abbreviation with an X at the end.

I also use Ctrl+Shift+F for all those @@ (stop codes) in standards. I just replace them with blanks, so I don't have to worry about deleting them.

I do a lot of physician letters and am constantly typing out addresses (b/c most of them are not in the database). I just save the name/address by the last name with a z at the end. Then I all have to hear is the doctor's last name and everything prints out. Just be sure to listen to make certain the address hasn't changed since the last time you typed it.
