If you like your accounts and like working part time for MQ, why not try to see what the $$ would look like comparing what you are working right now versus going up to full time of 40 hours?
What I'm saying is, it may be possible. If you are working 20 hours a week and making $20,000, then yes, you could be working 40 hours a week and making $40,000. Simple math to do, just figure out what you make per hour now and take that times 40 and see if it comes up to $770 a week (for $40,000 a year).
You'd be the best one in your situation to tell since you're already working the accounts and know your speed and averages with those accounts.
Of course, if your favorite accounts don't have the extra work for what extra you'd like, then you'll be moved into the national pool or given other accounts, which will also affect your production.
Just another thought on how to figure if going full time would be a good move for you. You sound happy with what you are doing and I hope that there is a way that you can continue to work for MQ and on your favorite accounts... but on a more realistic note, I don't think MQ is very willing to work with most of us MTs to achieve those types of goals anymore. But again... it could be possible, just very difficult and you'll probably pay a high price for it in the long run. You'll have to decide and judge for yourself if you're willing to try it.
Again, good luck! |
