$40,000/yr divided by 52 weeks = approx $770/week.

$770/week divided by 7 cpl = 11,000 lines per week.

Remember, this is GROSS, not calculating in witheld taxes or any insurance, etc., taken out.

As the other poster mentioned, if you qualify for bonuses, of course, this will be increased, but with the state of everything today and the probable chance that they'll find at least one reason for you not to achieve this bonus, I wouldn't count on it.

Also wouldn't count on any overtime... you just never know when or if it will be available. So without OT, you'd have to do those 11,000 a week in 40 hours, meaning approx 275 lines an hour consistently.

Of course, you more than likely will get some straight transcription, which means, if you are getting 7 cpl ASR, you are getting 10 cpl for transcription. So this also will increase your per-week earnings.

So, if you can do 11,000 lines a week all ASR, no bonuses, and no OT, then yes, you can make $40,000 a year gross... add in a little straight transcription, possibly some OT and the possible bonus, I think you could do it.

I don't do any ASR, work 40 hours a week plus OT almost every time it's offered, average 8000 lines per week if I'm on my regular accounts, 9 cpl, and I'm not going to hit $34,000 gross this year...just too many changes. Previous few years I topped $40,000, but since being made employee, it dropped down to less, and now this year with the national pool it's another few thousand less. I have 17 years of transcription experience and 12 of them at MQ.

Hope this helps your decision.
