The company can then drop the MT's pay scale to compensate for getting less money from the client. Everyone wins except the MT who works for less money and is basically retyping the entire report because ASR is nowhere close to where it should be. ASR was created, IMO, as a marketing tool to snatch clients at it's lower transcription rates. I wish all MTs would refuse decreased pay for doing ASR because it is for the most part no different than straight transcription, with the exception of that rare client who is a slow, clear and concise dictator. |
