Sorry, but 8 cpl is not 12 cpl on OT. It is not figured that way. It is based on your production earnings for the week divided by hours worked to determine $$/hour, divide that by half to determine what the 1/2 of your 1-1/2 OT hourly rate would be, times number of overtime hours.
In my experience, it comes no where near 1/2 base rate, the best I've seen is maybe 1 or 1.5 cents.
I do see your point, however, and again, not to say that PT MTs don't work hard, but full-timers have already put in 40 hours a week and are really going above and beyond that to help out, not just for the extra money. In my opinion, since they are the backbone of this company, they should get that little extra because they are taking more time away from their families and their life to give more to this company than a part-timer is.
Again, I appreciate anybody, PT or FT, who puts in more work to help out, I just think any extra bonuses should be dished out equally no matter what their employee status is.
Also, as some others have said, some PSs don't approve overtime during a bonus weekend, so some FT MTs don't even get the opportunity to work for them. That is also not fair. If one area allows OT during a bonus weekend, I think they all should. Just my 2 cents. |
