This job is hard, so I'm glad you're happy in your situation whether you're on your own or supporting a family.  Like I said above, you never know when your situation is going to change.  Could be the start of the next quarter, the start of the new fiscal year, the start of the calendar year - you just never know, and you never know what the economy is going to be like then either, so its good to have a back-up.  I've had my situation change drastically without warning when I had little back-up.  Ain't fun, and I wouldn't wish it on anybody on this board, no matter how much their posts irked me.
