I don't know of any MTs there, but a geologist friend could not drive or go anywhere unaccompanied by her husband, if she were deemed to not be wearing modest enough clothing in public she could be beaten by the religious police, and as a non-muslim and a female, her value was something along the lines of talking livestock. She had very colorful descriptive language of her experience.
Some male friends in the oil business much prefer Kuwait or the UAE or even Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, but I don't know if those countries have any hospitals requiring English-speaking transcriptionists. Disclaimer: Male oil field workers' preference for other Arabic countries over Saudi Arabia may have more to do with the more ready availability of alcohol than any other factor.
