Read the entries in this forum regarding ASR and you will see how much SR is (not) helping and is costing us income. The executives think we can do 1/3 more work and thus cut our pay by 1/3, but SR + editing, in my experience, with the numerous corrections and time spent formatting, which would normally be done as I type, and the time spent moving through the document to do this, is not faster and too many times slower.
Stellar SR results are needed, but that is not the state of the art at this time.
The training necessary to edit the SR output is years of study and experience as a medical transcriptionist. Without our hard-earned knowledge, a good, proper and accurate record cannot be created.
Editing numerous SR documents in a day is also leading to a a whole new crop of repetitive motion injuries. |
