I just started working for Keystrokes, doing discharge summaries for a large hospital. I've been a Transcriptionist for over 15 years, doing other types of reports. While it has only been a few days and I know there is a learning curve, the reports are long and without much opportunity to make normals so far. Up to now, it is just a lot of straight typing. I use my word Expander to the max, and I'm a fast typist, but I still feel these reports are taking me so long to do and I don't get great line counts. Is this typical for discharge summaries? I don't want to sound like a complainer to them since I just started, but I don't want to invest a lot of time learning this hospital if I can't make money. I've heard such good things about Keystrokes and have a very nice trainer. How long do you give it before broaching the subject of productivity and/or asking for something else if this does not get better. Any advice welcome. Thanks. |
