Can you get a decent job with just a CBCS certification?

That's a new one for me. What is CBCS? - Curious

I know about CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H, but I've never heard of CBCS. What is it?

Okay, I Googled it, and that is not a credential accepted in the industry - Curious

If you can find someone who has a CBCS and is hiring, that might work. Otherwise, I don't think you have any advantage over anyone who just walks in off the street. That's just my opinion of course. I'm quite sure it won't help in coding. It might help somewhere in a billing job, but those jobs don't require credentials anyway.

Thank you, and I thought so. Was looking into a program at a local college that prepared you for the CBCS exam.
There's a lot of that kind of thing going around unfortunately - sm

Good for you for doing your homework before and not after you enrolled!

CBCS Certification?
Mar 05, 2013

My junior college offers (in partnership with Gatlin Education, now called ed2go) an online coding and billing course that prepares one for the certified billing and coding specialist certification, offered by the National Healthcareer Association.  That's a new one on me.  They also have a program that leads to the CCS, but they caution that it is not an entry level program and is designed for people who are already coding.  Can anyone tell me yes or no about this CBCS ...
