considering applying to Diskriter - xylex

Posted: Nov 15, 2010

I am considering applying to Diskriter.  I just received an email with some questions.  I am wanting to know any info on the criminal background check.  I had some hot checks about 7-10 years ago and paid them off then, but am worried about this background check and also my credit is not that great.  Could someone please clue me in?  Also, do you need to take a picture of your desk/work area to work there?  I have a alcove in my bedroom where I do my work since I live in an apartment.  I really believe my current employer is trying to get rid of me.  I have been moved off my primary (which I worked on for 15 years) to another account and have been on that for about 6 months now, I like it and I usually put in 15,000 or more in a payperidod but am considered PT because I did not want their insurance and had to make a status change - found out later that was not the case...now my hours have been changed 3 times and they keep telling me I make too much per line, but that is the rate I was hired at and I am putting over the FT line requirements each pay period.  Thanks, just afraid to jump ship because I know I will take a pay cut.  Thank you to all who have any info!

Background check: I could be wrong about this, but I don't think they are interested in financial matters, but rather criminal background. Don't quote me on that. Maybe someone knows this.

Picture of office: When I applied a while back, I did have to send a picture of my work station. I also work in my bedroom, but as long as your computer screen is not viewable by anyone who comes in (my back/chair is against the wall and desk/back of monitor faces the door so it would be difficult for someone to inadvertantly see the screen).

DR, in my experience, doesn't play games with anything. They tell you up front your pay and what they expect, which does include no schedule deviations except for emergencies.

I know how hard it is to make work change decisions, especially if you are taking a pay cut line-wise, but sometimes that doesn't always translate into a salary cut.

Good luck :-)

They may do VA accounts - I know you have to have a security check to do those, because I went thru it for K&R last year...just something that may be in the mix to require a background check....

I worked for them 3 years and they do require - sk

background check, credit check, and a drug screen. Maybe that is because of possibility of being on VA accounts. I only worked for them for 6 weeks--never had enough work for a full 40-hour week, but again--that was 3 years ago.

Stay Away From Diskriter!
Sep 11, 2012

Stay away from Diskriter who has an ad on the Job Seeker's Board. I worked for them and it was THE worst experience of my life. It is a very big hospital they are referring to with lots and lots of facilities associated with it and lots and lots of account specifics. You need to have a certified degree as a rocket scientist to work for them. They chastise you and make you feel worthless. The QA will knock you down, and then you have to waste YOUR time to prove them wrong, which they always ...

QC Editing At Nuance Or MT At Diskriter?
May 10, 2011

I am offered a position as a QC editor at Nuance.
