What would you do about a supervisor - pissedMT

Posted: Jan 11, 2015

who totally ignores your high priority emals for weeks and doesn't deem you important enough even to send you a a quick answer? What kind of a place or mentality would do that? Makes me feel like I'm just a little pissant.

I would contact whoever is above her - Kaci

Find out who is above her, whether it be her direct boss or the CEO of the company. Find their email address and/or phone number and let them know what is going on and let them handle it.

I have tried that before, but then started to receive - pissedMT

really nasty work for a long time after that and very picky QA audits. I'm always at least 99%. Is it worth it? I just can't understand the mentality that thinks one of their people who has a question is unworthy of even a quick reply. Won't even acknowledge that they received the emails. Then they ask for team effort and sacrifice. I guess I'm just venting the frustration. Thanks for the reply though.

what's your question? - let us try to answer...

LOL
Thanks for all your responses. I think I will - pissedMT

email them one more time and then call if no response. If call is rejected, then to the boss next. Just letting them get by with this is making me boil when I don't have to. If I get bad work, so be it. At least I will know I didn't just do nothing and they will have to tell me personally they don't want to respond to me. Emails are so easy to ignore, but a person on the phone would take a real shit.

Can you report her to HR? - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Not only for ignoring you, but for retaliating when you went to her boss. I have a policy that I will ask three times. If I don't get an answer, I do what I think is right. Of course, keep all the documentation of ignored emails. If you get reprimanded, you can say (and prove) you asked multiple times, did not get an answer, so took care of the problem yourself.

sounds like you work at - I am no longer a transcriptionist

[ In Reply To ..]
PRECYSE!

I would email her daily, then 2-3 times daily. Make it easier for her - to respond than ignore. SM

[ In Reply To ..]
One or 2 emails once every week or even couple of days wont get a response, but email bomb her and she will probably answer.

If not, at the end of my last email I would let her know I am cc'ing the email to her supervisor. THat should do it.

I have gone as far as called my supervisor/account manager - sm - PAMT2

Supervisor ignoring emails - iveseenitall

If it is an obvious pattern, I would accept it's a crappy job and try to find one where you are treated in a respectful, professional manner.

Exactly! - needful girl

Exactly, we all need to just get new jobs, because if we dare stick up for ourselves, they make it harder on us with harassment by QA and the "managers". Thankfully, I am on my last week with MTSO, and then I am so done with transcription. The "managers" get away with murder because we are remotely located and for some reason, the transcriptionist are painted as lazy, uneducated, stupid creatures that what something for nothing. There is nobody that takes the time to stick up for what is right, just or fair. Nobody cares as long as the managers, CEOs, tech people, etc. (everyone but the transcriptionist) makes their money but we are the heart and soul of this business.

Thanks, phone call worked. She was really - unpissedMT

nice and said she'd been busy. Got my question answered and she told me of another person to email if I can't get her again in the future. So next time instead of sitting and boiling and making up all kinds of stories in my head about what's going on, I think I'll just call and ask. Simple. Thanks again for all the input.

Supervisor Ignoring Emails - MTsGettingScrewed

Supervisors are horrible for not answering emails. Hard to find a job where you feel like you are part of the team. The only time a supervisor will contact you is to discipline you, otherwise they sit back drink coffee and are on FB.

Now, watch your back. Most of these, "supervisors" think they are un-touchable and will retaliate with QA and harassment.
Thanks, but like I said, I don't have control - unpissedMT

over what they do, but I feel better knowing I did something instead of just sitting there like a victim and not doing anything. Don't know if that makes sense to anybody else, but I just feel better about the situation. I think I got to know them better too in the conversation. Email is so easy to misinterpret. Thanks for the warning though. It that happens, then I might have to take other action, but at least I won't sit and boil again, which only affects me.

Badgering Supervisor
Jul 26, 2011

Does anyone have any ideas of what to do about a supervisor who always says, "It is a privilege to work at home".  She threatened me that I might have to come in-house to work because I complained about my keyboard no longer being compatible with the new computers.  I have to work weekends in-house on a rotating schedule.  I also said it is difficult to get readjusted when you go in house because the work station is different.  I should have never complained because now she s ...

An MT Supervisor Told Me (Regarding MTs Who Aren't Doing Well)
Mar 12, 2010

An MT supervisor told me that when they aren't happy with an MT's work because they aren't following instructions or are getting sloppy, they just take them off the schedule. Sometimes they do it gradually and other times leave them with little or no work. They keep the work for the MTs who are doing the best job with the least fuss. Interesting. ...

Supervisor Ignores Emails... What Would You Do?
Feb 11, 2012

At this company for one year now and do not like it, not one bit.  The main problem is that the 'manager' ignores my emails.  I complained for MONTHS about the account I was on with a response like "I'll call you later" or response a few days later blowing me off.  I finally get on another account and just do not like it.... not a good fit for me.  oh, and my hours were cut to 30 and I'm sure it's because I complained about the other account.  So ...

I Do Believe My Supervisor Keeps All The Good Dictators For Herself.
