Transcend lost a big account - anyone know which one?

There is rumor that Transcend has lost a huge account and I see someone further down on the board figures this to be true since she now has work in this account, only she is working for a different MTSO. Anyone care to elaborate? I say this is only the beginning for them, the way they push and shove until TAT is down to about 3 minutes. You only get what you pay for in this industry. Plus you also get what you have coming, after the way Transcend treats their MTs.

All those people on the account Transcend just lost, which was a BIG account, and Transcend needs to hire more people to cover a new BIG account they just got?

Either this is smoke and mirrors to spin the big account lost or really bad management policy.

Still avoiding the OP original question. Isn't that just like Transcend. Lie, spin and lie. So happy to be gone from that den of vipers!

You have to be careful when it comes to corporate double-speak. The hospital itself didn't get "lost" at all. The hospital is still located in the same place where it has always been.

Maybe they just moved on to a different MTSO. Or maybe they just moved a majority of their work to a different MTSO. Or maybe Transcend is just subcontracting that work out to my MTSO.

I really don't know and really don't much care one way or the other.

But I do know that there is only one hospital system by this name in this particular city. I do know that I was supposed to be on this account at Transcend. And I do know that I am now doing that hospital's work at a different MTSO.

so it is obvious Transcend lost that account or part of it. Why would they subcontract work out to another MTSO? I believe some of the posters to this thread are no doubt management and just putting up a smoke screen. Glad you are working on this account through another MTSO and not Transcend. That is a blessing.

Been with Transcend since the buyout, and can I just say I LOVE it. All of my accounts are and stay consistently busy. I was worried when we were transitioning from reading all the negative posts on here, but after all this time the only changes that have happened have been for the better.

Good, I hope the company gets hit where it hurts, and they deserve it for the way they treat their MTs.

I have no idea which companies or accounts are being discussed here, but I want to play devil's advocate to show that they may not have lost the account, but the MT may not be somewhat right as well.

I have worked on an account for years that is a major teaching hospital and I know for a fact that they have not only in-house people, but outsource to no less than 3 services.

They have a high volume of work and getting things done is important, so they don't like to have their eggs all in one basket so to speak. They outsource to services in different parts of the country so that if a major weather event (or something similar) happens to 1 service and they have down time, it's not likely to affect the others and their work will still get done.

Today is Sunday, I work in the South Region and I'm getting a hospital I never had before. I have had the same hospital for a very long time and used to never run out of work and now it is just about gone. Small to medium-sized company lost a very large long-term client. Naturally, the MTs are to blame. Reason given was the work was out of turn around on weekends and MTs did not meet their commitments. I can't say what percentage of MTs did not meet their commitments. I do know that I always have. I also know that I have kept an accurate log of the work on this very large account and 75 to 90% of the time the work runs out on Sunday, with no work available on Mon ...

After 14 years of transcribing for a medical practice, suddenly, without notice, I was "dumped." My client implimented the required EHR mandated by President Obama. I guess I was somewhat naive in not seeing this coming, but I assumed transcribed documents by a "real person" would still be wanted by my client. Now I find myself at age 57 without work. My next step is to inquire about verbatim transcription, but the idea of not correcting improper grammar and using "yeah" ...

Just heard today my local town's clinic will be going to EMR in September so those MTs will be losing their job (we are only 2000 people but the clinic is going EMR), another town 125 from me with about 100 MTs have just lost their jobs and a bigger town from there has lost about 100 MTs because of EMR. These are rural America and not big hospitals by any means compared to some of the bigger cities in the country. This is just not right and so, so, so sad. I also jus ...
