Thanks. Yes, they have made that clear and that is no problem. I am not getting any solid answers however on many things, including how benefits accure, what exactly is the "extra" for having a CMT, etc. - was told I would get these answers when I showed up for training. Cannot believe a company would expect you to show up for training without offering you a written offer outlining all of above. So my question is, if anyone does work with Silent Type, are they true to their verbal agreement?

Do they pay for your round-trip airfare and - accommodations?

I've been with them for about a year and absolutely love it. There is NO voice recognition, all straight typing, for the most part very good dictators. I was with MQ for many, many years before that, and ST is a breath of fresh air, like the old TL used to be. Their platform is very user-friendly and QA is great, very nice people. They also have a generous benefit package including paid holidays and more.

Thank you. Yes, according to their ad they have decent benefits. Unfortunately I am having difficulty understanding why the recruiter (the owner is not available currrently) is unable to give me even a verbal breakdown of benefits, pay schedule, etc. but is pretty much saying I just need to go for the training. Do you enconter this same interaction?

I really don't remember my conversation with the recruiter. I did have a conversation with the owner and she broke everything down for me, but she is out now for health reasons.

SM - Yes, have spoke with the owner and understand she is not available at this time so therefore have been speaking with the recruiter who has taken over while she is out. My concern is that he is unable to answer specific questions but is eager to have me there for training. I cannot imagine taking the time and costs for traveling to New Jersey for training without have some simple questions answered first. I was also told in a quick telephone conversation originally with the owner all the benefits, including three weeks vacation. One question you might answer? When exactly are the three weeks available and how does the vacation accure? Thanks!

The owner told me they pay you back in an "up to" way and I think it was up to $500 reimbursement for travel, hotel and food, rental car, etc. You get the first half at the end of your training and the other half after you have been working there six months.

That a place requires you to come to their office for training. Is what they're doing so complicated that it requires someone there actually teaching you to do it? Otherwise they don't sound like such a bad place and don't advertise for help too often.

I would guess they feel that if you are willing to go there for training, you would take your commitment seriously.

It's ABSURD! If an MT can work from home, she - can sure as heck train from home, as well. nm

I have been with Silent Type for a year now. I enjoy the fact we work M-F schedule and no weekends. I also enjoy the fact that we have good QA. I also enjoy the fact we get vacation and bonuses. I also enjoy the fact we are offered health insurance and 401-K. Girls don't forget these perks when you are complaining about the work being light. Is anyone getting work?? I am told there is plenty of work, but keep getting "no jobs available". If you are getting work, when do you get it?? I have flexed every way I know and still get no work.
