SOFTSCRIPT IS AT IT AGAIN....WARNING, - KieRoo

Posted: Jan 29, 2015

No surprise, SoftScript just posted another manager position and another trainer position.  Please beware, this is part of the bait and switch game they like to play.  If you are hired for these positions, you will get a phone call a week or two into your employment informing you that you just are not the right fit.  Oh, but no worries, they will keep you on as an MT.  If you choose to stay, you will not be eligible for there MT sign on bonus!  Please, do NOT fall for their games!  Take a look at all their postings on mtjobs.com and look at all their recent postings for supervisors, managers, teacher/trainers, and Q coordinators.  These are all "fake" positions in their bait and switch game.

Thanks for this Warning - an

[ In Reply To ..]
OMG, thanks so much for this warning. You know, it seems as though they have something odd going on there, was suspicious myself. This is really a big help to the poor MTs getting sucked into these companies every day. It is really becoming quite the scam out there. Thank you so much for posting your experience for all to heed warning.

sm - ?

[ In Reply To ..]
Are you saying that you applied for the positions internally (you were already an MT) or externally?

externally - cmt

[ In Reply To ..]
They only do this to people they hire externally. That is how they get new MTs.

Softscript scam - anonie

[ In Reply To ..]
What happened to truth in advertising? Couldn't they take this company to court charging them with this?

Not to discount - SM

[ In Reply To ..]
your experience, but did they tell you there would be a trial period at all? I just want to understand why you think this is a bait and switch.

wouldn't work for them anyways - been there

[ In Reply To ..]
I was hired as a "specialist" By SS a few years ago however the "speciality" account never came through. After stringing me along and waiting 3 months (and YES, given MT work on accounts that never had any work available to make enough $$ to survive on) I had to quit.. and very broke. Just a warning. It's true.

Softscript - suzanne

[ In Reply To ..]
It's good to have these companies exposed like that. They seem to think they are so smart, and that no one will reveal all of this, that they can treat MTs and other employees this way.

Right on - amy

[ In Reply To ..]
I agree suzanne. MTs will never be able to be formally unionized unfortunately, but by sticking together on a board like this and diligently informing and warning others of personal experiences as is done here, is a way of MTs uniting without having to pay union dues. Obviously this is starting to hit these MTSOs because if it weren't, they wouldn't have to be so creative and come up with these scam-type ads to get workers to work for them. I believe everyone needs to continue to stay united in this field, stop caving in to the low wages and putting up with bait and switch practices, stop making excuses, and continue to expose these MTSOs for what they really are. If they can't get anyone to work for them anymore, they won't keep up with the work, they will lose contracts, which will in turn force a change for the better of the MT. Keep up the good work on here and stay diligent in posting your experiences and knowledge of these wrong doings. Stay United and keep helping each other.

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME - me

[ In Reply To ..]
The same thing happened to me. I was given an offer letter which I accepted. I left another company and started working at SoftScript. Within 4 or 5 days of starting, I got a call from human resources. They told me the offer letter I was given was not correct and that the rate of pay was actually lower. Since I had already left my previous employer, I decided to stay anyway. The very next week I was called again, and they said I was not the right fit for the mentor position. Strange thing is, I never even got to work in the mentor position at all. I was still in training and doing very well. I was passing all the requirements with flying colors! I too was told I could stay on as an MT. I have been in this business for 20 years, and I have never seen this tactic used. How disgusting!

I just looked up the job postings - SM

[ In Reply To ..]
You mentioned. It is very disconcerting because I currently work there and none of these jobs were offered internally recently. There is also no truth to the platform being easy or user-friendly or whatever language they gave. It's a terrible antiquated platform.

stinky company - amy

[ In Reply To ..]
Wow, this company sounds like a total scam. Get the word out to everyone/anyone you can. Make sure you note that name of that recruiter as they seem to float from company to company as well. Sounds pretty dishonest. Looking by the amount of advertisements they post ALWAYS looking for workers, I guess should be a red flag in itself to stay away from them. Shame, Shame. Way to stick together MTs.

Nah, this recruiter is ancient... - she is the crypt keeper, lol

[ In Reply To ..]
j/k. I did work there eons ago and she was the person that hired me way back when, tho.

Worst platform on the planet. - Seriously.

[ In Reply To ..]
You eff up the demographics, learn at the end of the dictation you had the wrong person or whatever, and you have to copy everything over to word, then restart the entire damn report.

Why can't they get MTs to create these programs? Do they EVER even attempt to contact an MT for their opinion? God it just blows my freaking mind.

worked there - shelly

[ In Reply To ..]
I worked there for like two or three weeks for orthopedics, didn't get much work, so I moved on. Thankfully, I had not quit my other job at the time. But I do remember when I was getting set up with my computer, the IT guy was rude. When I quit, the manager or whatever position she was in............called my emergency contacts, trying to track me down, because I gave a two weeks notice........I just got the feeling they were a weird company.

Trainer - Lilly

[ In Reply To ..]
Wow. I started with them as a trainer a few months ago and they have been wonderful to me. I do know they have very strict standards that you must meet and require you to be working and not take time off. I love it and have recommended several friends who are also now working as transcriptionist and they like it too.

I would be looking for employment somewhere else. - cmt

[ In Reply To ..]
With SoftScript having 3 recent postings for the trainers, you might want to start looking for another job. They have many recent postings for managers, and they recently got rid of a manager. I would not trust them. Following their postings at mtjobs is probably a good way to know if your job is in jeopardy.

SoftScript Job Postings - KLM727

[ In Reply To ..]
After almost 3 years as a mentor/trainer with Softscript I am very sad to be leaving. It is my job that is being advertised and I can say that whoever fulfills all the requirements and is lucky enough to be hired for this position will be working for a terrific company that takes very good care of it's employees and clients. The problem with most of the people that Softscript hires is that they don't have the skills and ability to maintain the high level of quality and the required line count to be successful and they end up being let go. Which understandably I guess would leave bad feelings and perhaps even the need to speak poorly of the company.

Why leave if you're so sad? - What are you not telling

[ In Reply To ..]
I wonder?

SoftScript Job Postings - KLM727

[ In Reply To ..]
I'm leaving because I'm burnt out on transcribing and even more burnt out on QA which in effect means cleaning up trash left behind by careless and lazy MTs. I'm sad because SoftScript is a great company and I have made many friends here. I just really can't take it anymore. I see the same stupid mistakes every single day. My mind is numb and I must move on to something else.

Oh Pluueeeze... - cry me a river

I hope none of you bought that song and dance. She's sad to be leaving, doesn't say why she's being replaced, only to say everything was great and that everyone below her is less skilled.

SOFTSCRIPT IS NOT FAKE - Gigi

[ In Reply To ..]
I have been reading these posting about SoftScript. I am a current employee there. I love the company and was hired for the position I applied for which is management. I feel like I need to address some of these comments made. I am not sure why if you work for a company you want to post negative things about them. They can figure out who you are. They do monitor this. Why stay with them? Just get another job. The production managers are great people and the reason why they have all these posts is because they are a good company and are growing. It is not a scam. If you are not qualified for the position you are given the opportunity to take another position so you must have not been doing the job correctly. I asked the recruiting manager how long she and other management staff have been there and she has been there for a very long time and so has the managers. They are all previous transcriptionist too and I like that they know how it really is...not like another company I worked for where the managers didn't even know how to do transcription. I would recommend this company any time.

Soft Script - tina

[ In Reply To ..]
Well, I hope they can get some managers who learn not to send nasty, accusing e-mails like they used to do, and I have heard quite a few other MTs mention this too on here, so it's been a fairly frequent occurrence. I wasn't impressed when I worked with them a short time. They probably just need more MTs and running out of MTs like Nuance is and so this is their way of getting more MTs on board, etc.

Proof their worried - thatsafact

[ In Reply To ..]
So Softscript monitors this board do they? Are they worried that the MTs on here are going to stick together and expose their unscrupulous practices. Sure they are. So, beware, they will now have to figure out a new con to get MTs to work for them, watch for it. Red flag all over this people. If a company cannot be honest about the positions they are hiring for, they must not be too proud of their MT positions, and again, why would anyone want to work for them. Low pay, crappy hours, just to name a few. Is it that MTs are FINALLY sticking together and just simply not working for these types of companies that are dishonest. I see in the posts below that other companies can't get MTs to work for them either, look at Nuance, their reputation is mud, and all those little companies that have rolled over and caved to the very company that stole their business (hang your heads in shame), they are having a hard time staffing as well. COULD IT FINALLY BE COMING AROUND. That the MTs who are staying diligent in your warnings and coming together, do you have these companies scraping for workers? If they are monitoring this board resorting to bait and switch recruiting tactics and having their workers (or themselves) post on here trying to make their companies look good, YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE. Those are acts of desperate companies. If they have no workers, they cannot satisfy contracts. If they can't satisfy contracts, they will need to start treating the people who make them their money with MUCH more respect, that is YOU. Demand the respect you are all worth. All it takes is for everyone to get on a board like this and spread the word to expose all these companies so fellow MTs stay away. Consider these posts a success in what most of you are trying to accomplish here. I say demand a higher rate of pay all at the same time TOGETHER, or move on. Turnover costs a company big money, so if every one of their MTs in a company stand united and demand higher wages or you ALL walk, or if even half of you can unite, they will have a tough time meeting their contracts. Beware they will resort to tactics such as if we have to pay more, the company would fold and you wont have a job. The truth is, if they pay more, the big guy may have to take less. Well, you all have been taking less for HOW LONG. Fear keeps us from doing a lot, they bank on that. STICK TOGETHER. Power in numbers and you WILL make a difference eventually. And whatever you do, stay away from dishonest companies and don't support them.

Amazing reply. - KieRoo

You were pointing out the word "they're" when "their" should have been used in thatsafact's post, right? Ironically, in your original post that started this thread, you said, "...will not be eligible for there MT sign on bonus" -- which should have been "their." Just saying.... lol

Softscript must have voted - 17 Likes & 1 Dislike

[ In Reply To ..]
Still worried and still watching the board! Too bad your dislike vote is overpowered by the voices of the industry. So read this ---- for every person you double cross and lie to, you will see it posted on this board and any other board they can. They will warn their co-workers, friends, hospitals, and clinics of your underhanded practices and false advertising or any other MTSO's underhanded ways. MTs are fed up with your deceiving ways and other MTSOs like yourselves. They are not going to stand for it any longer. They are tired of working long sucky hours/days/holidays/weekends, tired of being stuck to a chair till their legs/neck/back ache, tired of being nitpicked, tired of being unappreciated, and tired of making far less than minimum wage for all they give. MTs ARE uniting and things will change. You better remember who holds the real keys to this industry's future, and it is NOT you or any other MTSO. You are already feeling the effects and it is going to get worse for you. When they have all had enough and you have no one to do your slave labor and work in your sweat shop atmosphere, you will be ALL DONE!
im just an MT that works there that disagrees with you - Lmao

Wow, sounds like another threat! - Wst

[ In Reply To ..]
Wow, this sounds like another threat from management. It looks like we need to start a whole new thread on SoftScript! Let's see, should we call it SoftScript wants to silence there employees? SoftScript threatens termination for posting? It does not sound to me like anyone here is crazy enough to work for them!

SS - My reply

[ In Reply To ..]
You say "They can figure out who you are?" Well, so, ever heard of freedom of speech? We can say anything we choose to say about any company we choose to say it about. The comment "Why stay with them? Just get another job." I can guarantee you that most are looking for other jobs, hence your HUGE turn around.

That is completely untrue about the managers being there so long, because I have seen manager after manager after manager come through. Good luck with your lies lady.

Oh please!!! The recruiter has never been an MT! sm - Just the facts!

[ In Reply To ..]
Yes many of the managers are previous MTs. That part is very, very true. Just because they "were" MTs does not mean that they were good MTs.

The recruiter however (first name begins with D) is not nor has ever been an MT.

Are they overall a decent company? Yes and definitely more so compared to some of the others out there. They definitely do have their positives (along with their negatives).

Not all of the production managers are "great people." Do not deceive others by making that statement. There a 1 or 2 who are extremely hard to work with.

However since you seem to be new(er) there. Good luck to you and I hope it all goes well.

SoftScript's evil recruiter! - www

[ In Reply To ..]
Their recruiter is a cruel, evil woman. It all makes perfect sense to me now that I know she has never been an MT. The recruiter, D (Debra), sent me an offer letter to match what I was making somewhere else. I left that job because I wanted to support a company who keeps work in the US. Just like someone else posted, after I left the company I was working for and started with SoftScript, I was notified that they made a mistake on my offer letter, and the pay was a lot less than they offered! Disgusting! I could not get out of there quick enough.
Questions of the day - Alex
[ In Reply To ..]
Isn't it just such an impelling question as to why a company would have a recruiter who uses bait and switch tactics, doesn't post hours or days very often of what the job is, is obviously deceiving, and from the sounds of it very rude, and this is what they have representing their company. It really begs to question WHY? Or is it that the company is the backbone of the sneaky behavior and the recruiter is the front for them? Still that would beg to question WHY would any recruiter tarnish their reputation as such? Not sure which is the more idiotic of the 2 - the recruiter or the company??

Well of course you would defend them, Gigi... - Being that you are in management and being paid ho

[ In Reply To ..]

I ran out of room - the title should have said "being paid hourly" ... not "ho"  lmao.

Idle threats, Gigi.  Do you think anyone here gives a hoot if "they" can see us?  Hell, the majority of us are praying that someone who could possibly make a change is reading this website and taking notes.

Unless I woke up in North Korea this morning, I still have the right to speak my mind freely.  No employer will ever have me running scared to speak up about my rights as an employee and a human being, and that includes SoftScript, Nuance, iMedX... Bring.  It.  On.

This isn't about being unhappy with our workload or some supervisor we don't like.  If you're an adult, you put up with that stuff to pay the bills.  That's nothing, especially if you don't have to physically be around your coworkers and look them in the eye.  And that's how these companies get away with treating us like we don't exist and don't have lives and families to support... they don't have to look us in the eye.  A lot of companies take advantage of that.  If I can't see you, I can't empathize.

No, this is about being cheated out of a decent living.  This is about being lied to and deceived on a daily basis, and living with constant paranoia and fear about our livelihoods... because we have been lied to and deceived over and over again.

I worked for SS a long time ago.  I could tell you stories, oy vey!  But yeah, pretty much everything said here in these posts is exactly as it was over a decade ago when I worked there - with the same a-hole admin staff too.  I was on the admin staff.  When I left, I ranted to everyone in my address book.  I'm sure no one cared, I was immediately locked out of email, but man it felt good when I clicked Send.

So, No!  Gigi!  We will not stifle!  When companies treat their workers like slaves, when they put people in charge that don't know a comma from a hole in their azz or the difference between affect and effect and they can't execute a decent email... then you can expect some sort of backlash.  We are in the Wordsmith business, dammit!  We expect... no, we demand to have our supervisors as knowledgeable as we (think we) are.  lol

All kidding aside, I think the tide is starting to turn.  People are fed up.  There are a lot of posts from a lot of really ticked off people at a couple of certain companies right now.  Next week, it will be another company that is mistreating and abusing their employees and getting away with it through some loophole.  This sadly has to be the most devious, dishonest, and morally wrong business I can think of.

Apparently, no one here is scared of SoftScript's idle threats, though, and I encourage them to keep speaking up - maybe start speaking up to someone who can make a change.  Look at the news... Anthem Insurance was hacked, and everything we've been saying for years has now happened.  Our very personal, crucial identity information is being sent worldwide - through our health industry.  Who didn't see THAT coming with all the offshore crap? I hope like hell this happens again and again, until our gov't gets a clue and stops our health information from being sent overseas... then again, I only have 10 years to retire.  Someone younger needs to fight this fight, sigh.

Bottom line, and sorry for the novella... If SS didn't have anything to hide and if their employees were happy, then my guess is they wouldn't have to send in their minions to come on here and threaten anyone who speaks their mind about the indignities people are suffering in this business.

I feel a storm coming.  To paraphrase a line from Dune... We have worm-sign the likes of which even God has never seen.  Get ready for the storm.  People are mad.

Then why are you looking for employment? - wondering

I have only been getting approximately 25 hours a week.  Yeah, I'm broke.  Luckily I have a husband who works or I would be in a mess.  Anyway, they have emailed me and said I have to have minimum 30 hours to continue to have medical ins.  Well, if the work isn't there, what am I supposed to do?  So, I asked my team lead to please give me a backup acct.  So she has sent out requests to other team leads and said she would let me know if one replie ...

WARNING: Do Not Work For NUANCE!!!
Apr 20, 2011

OSI bought Nuance in 2011.  Since then I have run out of work more often than I have work and have lost benefits and had pay cut.   Nuance is recruiting.  WHY?  They don't have enough work for people who are already working for them. ...

ACCUTRAN IN INDIANA WARNING
Mar 18, 2014

I just wanted to warn everyone that Accutran has an ad on MT jobs. I worked there a short time. This woman does not pay on time and you have to beg for your money. My 2 friends and myself had to threaten legal action to get paid. She does not pay for spaces, at least she did not when I worked there. Just wanted to give everyone the heads up and not have to go through what me and my 2 friends went through. ...
