ProScript - received notice that your status is being changed - disheartened

Posted: Dec 30, 2009

Have any ProScript employees received notice that your status is being changed to statutory and that your line rates are being cut for VR starting 1/3/2010? I would like to hear if this is affecting all employees or only some. This probably is going to cause quite a pay decrease as well.

I've heard nothing from them about a pay cut. See msg. - SM

Since we switched to VR, I've been expecting an announcement of a pay cut, but I've heard nothing yet. Their VR software is so buggy and hard to work with that I can't see how they can justify the pay cuts at this point. It has made us less productive, not more.

So, in addition to cutting your pay they're stripping all of your benefits away, too? Wow. How much notice did they give you?

I can't say I am surprised, though. The new management there cares nothing about the MT compared to the former crew. It has really become an unpleasant place to work.

I wonder why some have been informed of pay cuts while others haven't, though. ??

Wow, what happened to that company? I used to work there and they were great! Sounds like they have new management? Does anyone know what happened there to cause this?

Geez, did Rick go and sell this company, too? - sm - Sam

That's what happened at another company he owned years ago. Said he would never do that again but sounds like he did.

It wouldn't surprise me. One of the other former DDIers - see msg. - SM

went "on vacation" and then simply was never heard from again. Other people have joined staff and then simply disappeared, too, sometimes only days later. They started nickel and diming the MTs earlier in the year, gradually eliminating what few nice little extras we had, cutting corners all over the place. It's a TOTALLY different place than it used to be, and the change hasn't been for the better.

wanted to go on and on how this was the "old" Rick and things were wonderful at Proscript and how he was going to run it his way now and it would be great working for him. I didn't buy it. Seeing what is going on through hearing the stories, glad I am not going through what you are now. Good luck to you :)

Sounds like another "Ooops, I did it again!" - no message

Not sure why you didn't get the letter with the new pay structure. Whoever is running PS now does not value their MTs at all. I really hope all the employees jump ship and they are scrambling to keep up with the new IC crew. The witches running the place need to get a taste of their own medicine.

It sucks to be us now...sm, - Stuck it to us

Long time employee, lost my bennies with less than 30 days notice. Merry Christmas! Yes very big pay cut 1/3/2010. HATE the management now. All the good people are gone. The story about going on "vacation" and was unable to be contacted anymore was really laughable. Yes, the company, in my opinion, is now one of the worst. Found another full time job which I hope works out, but I hate transitioning. I have major health issues, so losing my insurance is a disaster. I don't think there is much hope for this company coming back from the cliff.

Is it true that in 2010 (which is less than an hour - away), employees with med. ins. (sm)

will no longer be able to get COBRA if they change jobs? I read this somewhere this evening on a list of changes for 2010, and was under the impression that loss of COBRA is one of them.

Put COBRA 2010 into Google - see msg - SM

[ In Reply To ..]
- and you'll see that the government is extending it's subsidy of COBRA into 2010. I've heard nothing about COBRA going away. Of course, it's still not affordable for most and is a bit of a joke if you ask me.
No Congress passed the extension of the subisidy. I watched that closely.. - Just a loser

I See Little Has Changed
Apr 15, 2010

Well, I see not much has changed.  I've been out for nearly three weeks, just flat out stopped working, I think they probably know by now I'm not coming back.  Have not heard a thing from the Q about it. But I think I've found another way to go.  We have a bartending school near where I live.  My sister used to bartend, I never have, but I know what she used to do.  The school will teach everything about mixology and offers job placement when you graduate ...

Rule Changed?
Jun 29, 2011

murmurs, gallops, or rubs  OR  murmurs, gallops or rubs? I am old school and taught that the first is correct, but I waste a huge amount of time and keystrokes correcting this and other instances like this.  I looked at the AAMT link, but really didn't get a sufficient answer if the second is OK to leave as that is the preferred way ASR puts it; however, every grammar site I looked at online puts the additional comma in. ...

Formatting Abruptly Changed
Feb 03, 2010

There probably have been answers to my question out here before, but does anyone know what causes the formatting in an EditScript document of which I am either editing or transcribing?  It tabs, bolds, changes font sizes, and messes up the spacing between lines.....things I did not manually do myself.  Is there something I should be changing on my RTF? Or is it something else?  Seems like I may have seen something about that, but I can't find it in my manual (which doesn ...

American Workers Have Changed--And Not For The Better
Nov 08, 2011

I've talked with several MTs recently who work for different companies. The companies have to send out reminders to the MTs that they are supposed to be at work at specific times. They also are having trouble with MTs just taking off without arranging for coverage of their accounts. The list goes on and on. What bothers me most though is the attitude of workers. Work was not easy years ago, but people did it with courage and integrity. You don't see much of that anymore.   &nbs ...

Why I Think Medquist Changed Their Name To MModal...
Feb 06, 2012

Specialty Lookup Has Changed :-(
May 30, 2013

There's a site I'd been referencing for a long time when I couldn't find a doctor through Fluency, which is often. It was always easy, user friendly and reliable, and I could usually find the doctor I was looking for under his or her specialty. Now it's been changed to a newer, sleeker pretty look, but the format for finding a doctor doesn't work and is not helpful at all. For instance, in looking up, say, Pulmonary doctors, it shows an assortment of doctors of variou ...

How Nuance Changed My Life For The Better
Feb 27, 2014

In my 3 years here at Nuance they have taught me the greatest lessons in frustration and humility I have ever experienced. They have forced me to learn how to be frugal and thrifty. They have taught me to earn extra income and streamline my life through selling a life’s worth of memories and tchotchkes by having rummage sales. They have taught me that you can find not only fashion, style and quality, but even designer clothing at Goodwill. They have taught me that paying cash is way bette ...

Work Queues Changed??
Dec 10, 2014

Since Saturday when the new pay plan went into effect, I've gotten nothing but the worst of the worst doctors on this account.  Most of these I've only gotten a few times in the past (luckily), but now that is all I am getting.  What happened to the regulars I used to get before Saturday?? How did they just magically disappear? Is this all a part of this new pay plan?  Not only lowering our pay rate, but also making it even harder than it already is to make a living wage ...

What Would You Do, Pay Decreased When Company Changed Hands
Mar 30, 2012

I was working for a company that got bought out by another company and the client I was typing for was paying 12 cents a line, now the new company will only give me 7.5 cents a line for the same client.  This client is ESL and very hard to learn and his files are always 10+ minutes each.  They told me I would eventually get 10 cents for him, but that was almost 6 months ago and still only get 7.5.  I have asked for a raise to at least 8 cents and they denied me.  What would y ...

MTStars Has Changed In The Past Few Years...sm
May 09, 2014

I haven't been on this board in many years since I stopped working from home. I just logged on for the first time this week after a long absence, and it really has changed. It used to be that the regular posters used consistent nicknames for all their posts. That was nice because you got to know who was who, who was good for word help, etc. Now it seems almost no one at all uses a nickname and not only is it less personal but it contributes to the confusion in long threads. Nobody knows wh ...
