Patient First Transcription straight typing - 3moreyears

Posted: Apr 24, 2014

I have been seeing posts about Patient First, but I have looked everywhere and have not seen an ad or link to their website to check to see if they are hiring....I am hoping to find a good company that does straight typing, and Patient First might be an option for me....thanks in advance.

Umm, they do have a website. Maybe do a search for them? Their job postings are at the top left of the page.

did that - 3moreyears

I did do a search and only came up with a urgent-care clinic....anybody want to provide a link, which would be most helpful.

guess that - is that

they refuse to be found . . . their loss.

PF is an urgent care clinic, that is what they do- sm - XXX

[ In Reply To ..]
they are open year-round, kind of an emergency clinic but a lot cheaper. East coast clinic in a few states here, PA, VA, MD, and NJ. I believe you work in-house as an employee, least I know around here they want you on location. Pay is about 0.06 cpl, think it comes out to about $90 a day, and you have to do something like 1500 lines a day in 8 hours, something like that anyway, been a while since I got all the specifics. I believe a lot of ESL, but that is pretty much the norm these days. I apply every now and then as there are quite a few of them around me, but the test is awful, no clue how anyone can pass it (the transcription portion). It is patientfirst.com, click on "careers" to look for job openings. They must have a high turnover here since they run the ad a lot.

if you cant - find

[ In Reply To ..]
them probably best not to work for them. They may move in the middle of the night and short you on your check.

Their website is kind - of a cluster

Try under careers, administrative, then in Glen Allen Virgina

obvious need for - PF

[ In Reply To ..]
to have their own board here with instructions on how to find them on the web and how to negotiate their purposely convoluted application process. Code name: Paper bag. Facilitators already here, but they exhausted.

PF - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
Google Patient First out of Glen Allen Virginia and you can pull the webside up from there. Click on job postings and then under administration and there will be a opening for medical transcriptionist. Old posting from January but still hiring.

I tried filling out their application but since I - sm

have no business references I couldn't finish the application. It would not let me bypass the reference section. After working at home for 16 years and previous companies I worked for being bought out or no longer in business I just don't have 3 business refs. It says no family, friends, etc. as refs.

:(

you can't tell them they can contact the bigger company's HR - your records should be with them now. NM

about 5 or 6 people out of this vast national group has ever had a response from the company, so you maybe saved 3 or 4 minutes of your precious life time on a fruitless endeavor.

Use the companies where you worked - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
They are not asking for the impossible! Put names of supervisors or HR depts, or coworkers, or clients of your own.

Just use the last 3 companies you worked for, or 3 that you feel are more available than others.

It is not your fault that they got bought out. Use the company that bought them then.

This is the biggest disadvantage to working at home. You need to maintain contacts of some sort.

Missing Credit For Straight Transcription Typing
Mar 18, 2011

Does anyone seem to be missing credit for straight transcription typing.  I keep meaning to keep track of the straight transcription reports I type compared to ASR even though they are very few and far between, but I swear, every time I do get them, when I review my counts, it seems like some of them are missing.  I am going to try to keep better track of them.  Surely Medquist wouldn't stoop THAT low to cheat us . . . or would they?? ...

ASR Vs Straight Typing
Oct 15, 2010

Got new accounts for the last 2 weeks that are not ASR (yet) so have been doing about 90% straight typing.  I have been averaging about $20 more per day than when I do ASR.  They can sell whatever snake oil they want, I can type faster and make more money straight typing than I can with their much-touted fabulous ASR --- EVEN ON BRAND NEW UNFAMILIAR ACCOUNTS.  ...

Why Suddenly Less ASR, More Straight Typing?
Nov 19, 2009

Hmm, let's see.  We get a letter from MQ extolling our virtues as MTs, more and more info about nationalizing the EMR with Verizon, etc. and I notice I'm not the only one getting less ASR, more direct typing.  Could be a coincidence, but could be MQ is gathering statistics on us, how the voice recognition program of MQ compares with our production as MTs versus straight typing on our own.  Could MQ be using us as guinea pigs right now to pad their statistics to prove the ...

ASR Versus Straight Typing

Re Straight Typing Versus VR.
Mar 08, 2012

I have a pretty good and accurate typing speed, which has made me pretty good money in the past.  Then along comes VR.  I have had somewhat success with it, if the right dictation is placed on it.  The problem comes in when a company tries to put anything and everything on VR that does not belong there.  It defeats the purpose of using it in the first place. I am told that the computer calculates the accuracy of a report.  If it is 80% or more, it goes on VR.  ...

VR Is NOT Twice As Fast As Straight Typing!
Nov 28, 2012

I used to love my job, being an at-home medical transcriptionist. I used to make around $20-25 an hour straight typing and thought being an at-home medical transcriptionist was the best job ever! The flexibility of working from home and flexing my hours was great! I could get the kids off to school, work for a couple of hours, go shopping, work for a couple of hours, just so I made production requirements and everything was great! Unfortunately, things changed and they started making us ...
