Anyone running out of work? Is pay good, schedule flexible, etc?

There were recent (about 3 weeks ago) management changes in QA. For the QA team, things have gone from good to horrid overnight (IMO) due to the new micromanagement. I don't know if these management changes will eventually affect the MTs. I used to hear that things are fine if you avoid working with the Chartmatrix system and team. Well, the manager that was over the Chartmatrix team is now over Enterprise QA as well. It's too early to tell if or how that's going to affect the MTs. I personally wouldn't encourage anyone apply there in a QA capacity with the current management. Not sure if or how long things will be okay for MTs. Things can change very quickly. I liked my job a few weeks ago. Now I hate my job, am stressed out and dread going to work every day. I wish I could say I am the only one, but every other person I've heard speak of the changes has said the same thing. So I guess the answer is... I don't know and it depends. The STMs are generally wonderful, in my opinion, but the changes could result in pressure on them to micromanage their MTs. If you can wait a few weeks (or month+ is even better), I would recommend that right now. YMMV (your mileage may vary). Good luck.

Can you expound on the changes you are speaking of, and how they could affect the MTs? I have noticed A LOT of new names doing QA and haven't seen some of the names of old QA, have been wondering if they were let go or quit.

5 years and I don't feel micromanaged at all. I'd have to say the only time I've known people to have problems on my side is when they aren't appearing for shifts or are not doing an appropriate amount of work for 8 hours.

I've never had either problem, so I've never had a negative experience with her.

ASR was doing better a little while back now it is way screwed up again...Which means they hired people that dont know what they are doing..They need to make it about a year or so on new hires before they go through the filter and screw it up..And you would think at the very least there would be a filter to keep misspelled words from printing out,,,Just my opinion ...

I just want to let everybody know there are other fields where we can put our skills to use. I responded to an ad asking for a transcriptionist and thinking it was medical I sent my resume of 20+ years MT and got hired . It turns out its a legal transcriptionist for workers comp lawyers. I have been considering going to Andrews to become an MT for and I have never done it because I get on these boards and get scared to death! I have worked in the Medical field for 13 years (as a clinical tech and surgery....included in that is some limited transcription and scribing). I now stay home with my kids.
