Anyone work for Mediscribes/Cardioscribes (Louisville) - Concerned ex-MT

Posted: Aug 16, 2012

I was wondering if anyone in here works for Mediscribes based out of Louisville, KY (so they say). If so, can you tell me what your experience has been and if they offshore any of their accounts? Just trying to verify some information they gave me.

They ARE offshore -- owner has a house in Louisville, the techs and sm - btdt

the company are in India.

Cardioscribes - MT

Tech and work assignment in India. I have no idea if they have MTs there as well. Good pay, good incentive, direct deposit always on time, usually as much work as you can handle. Great people to work with. No complaints at all.

Nice of Cardioscribes SUIT to weigh in - Frank Stool

I just dislike the deceit. They list themselves as being in Louisville, sm - pfooey

but the company is in Ahmedabad, India. Work is dispursed from there, and they also have an Indian MT company. I realize such is the way of the business nowadays, but I dislike the deceit when they try to pass themselves off as an American company. The owner is Indian and the company is in India. Owning a house in the US hardly constitutes the company being based here.

No deceit whatsoever. - MT

I was told upfront during my interview that the company was Indian. In fact, what she said was that she knew that a lot of MTs had issues with Indian companies so she was telling me straight out so that we could avoid any misunderstandings. They're not trying to "pass themselves off" as anything. And quite frankly, having worked for one of the American companies that is currently in a feeding frenzy of smaller companies, I'd far rather work for Cardioscribes. Better QA, better mgmt, better pay, and plenty of work.

If that is the case, why do they list their company as being in Louisville in their job listing? nm - THAT is deceitful, no matter how you slice it

They are taking over my hospital's transcription (I am losing my job) - pissed
[ In Reply To ..]
and they lied to us. They said they are a US-based company and that "the other Mediscribes" was in India. Through lots of research, they have proved to all of us here that they cannot be trusted and that they lied, so spin it whichever way you want. BTW, whoever is doing the OP notes for my soon to be ex-employer you guys suck bad.
All OS people lie. That is my personal experience for the last 10 - year. Without exception, ALL of them. nm

Same reason why Nuance - MT

lists their address as Massachusetts. See http://www.ntsindia.in/outsourcing.asp

Crack me up - really too funny.
That hardly makes it acceptable. nm - jmo

If Mediscribes and Nuance are doing this, as you say---listing their company as being in the U.S., but really the bulk of the work being done in India, and also having a website explaining the benefits of outsourcing in India (found a couple of those), this is something that ABC and Diane Sawyer would want to expose. True, it is not illegal, but with their "Made in America" campaign gaining so much steam, I think this is something they would want to hear about and let people know about. How many average consumers are going to be okay with people half a world away being in charge of their medical records? Some people know about it because so much is outsourced now, but there are so many quality ramifications with this, besides the huge amount of lost transcription jobs here (I've lost three accounts to this at this point, one BIG one). And these jobs being lost are jobs that require a lot of knowledge and skill to do properly. And we're old news now.

I wonder if their clients know they are an Indian company. Might be interesting sm - disgusted

to know. They probably give them the Louisville BS too.
Clients dont care as long as the price is low. - nm

Mediscribes Based In Louisville? Right ;)
Feb 27, 2014

There may be one staff member in Louisville, but it's Indian owned.  Dig a little deeper. That's your first red flag.  Your second red flag is the knowledge that last summer, once the US labor passed QA for Mediscribes, they immediately switched to their own Indian labor immediately afterwards, admitting freely that US labor on the account had done nothing wrong, QA wise or productivity wise.  None of the 22 US laborers were given new ...

I read where someone wrote this was temporary gig.  What is meant by that.  I was recently hired and they did not tell me that.  They did tell me about being Indian based and all the rest about a home in KY.  I really do not know if they have Indian MTs but I would assume so, as most of the staff I have been in contact with are Indian and have very limited English.  Are you saying that they train Americans to do their work and then send them packing and send the work to ...

Mediscribes Ad - Beware - Bad Company.
Feb 06, 2013

Just quit there. Seriously lacks organization. Their India "allocation" team throws bits and pieces at you, very low volume, but then hammers your IM to death. Example, a 12 minute report is assigned, I would just get started on it and within less than 10 minutes they want to know where it is. WTF?! If the 2 US managers are out of the office and the India team is in charge, it's a nightmare. Then, even if the US managers are there, it's slim pickins as far as volume goes and then they ...

Possibly About To Be Outsourced To Mediscribes
Aug 07, 2013

Management says they are considering 4 MTSOs, and that we will probably be offered jobs with whichever they choose. Mediscribes is one of the four, so we have lots of questions about Mediscribes: Has anyone else here been hired by Mediscribes because their hospital outsourced to them? Did they keep you on the same account? Did they bring you on at one rate of pay, then cut your pay later (like Nuance does)? If yes, how much later and to what rate of pay? And for any Mediscribe ...
