All the over the top comments regarding Webmedx - factchecker

1. It sucks to lose a job, period.  At least 10 million people have gone thru the process in the recent past and none of them liked it.

2. No matter how it was delivered, you would still be upset. I gty you a phone call would have gone this way...."Hello, I am XX from HR and I need to inform you blah blah blah..."  Read from a script with no substantive answers due to today's legal environment and discrimination laws.  Having had the news delivered to me this way in the past - it feels no better.

3.  Have you ever switched jobs?  Did you tell your employer you were going to go look around and think about moving to another company or competitor. People everyday go on interviews without their current employer knowing about it for obvious reasons.

4. So I hear from some on this board that they should not have been let go?  What socialist system should be adopted?  Keep more people than are needed?  For how long?  How many?  Should they keep 10 extra or 20 ?  Do you really not remember the car industry where 1000's of people were paid to stay on w/out work and paid more than the market allowed.

5. One day you are working for the company, the next day you are trashing it.  If it was always that bad, why are you surprised?  One day you are rooting for people to grow the business, bring in new customers and create new volume - all of which is taken away from another business or taking away from MTs that are working in house.  If you are making money and on a growing account - there is someone who is losing money and losing business. Thats capitalism.

in a very polite way. I was so ticked that I could only come up with "tool." :/ I've read this person's other posts with the same tone... totally not called for.

Again, to all of those who were laid off... hang in there and good luck. There are some of us out here wishing the best for you.

What's the Greed???? - factchecker

[ In Reply To ..]
Pretty simple...you lose a couple of accounts and you cut back. Happens everyday in every business.

Its not greed you want - its socialism...you want everyone to make the same amount of money and blame the company. The hospitals pay for services what they are willing to pay.

That's not it at all. Now it's more than obvious you don't - really get it at all.

[ In Reply To ..]
Nobody says a company can't cut back. IT'S THE WAY THEY DO IT.

Nobody said that companies can't do what they have to do to save money. IT'S THE WAY THEY DO IT. If a company can afford to pay a CEO multimillion dollar bonuses for saving money, why can't they use that bonus money to keep a few more people OFF THE GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS! It's not socialism we want. IT'S A JOB!!

It's not socialism to take care of those who have nothing due to circumstances beyond their control. It's not socialism to contribute to the wellbeing of others if you have the means to do it. In fact, I think the definition of that is philanthropy.

[ In Reply To ..]
It says CEOs...as in general. Greed, as in general. Callousness, as in general.

Get a grip. Although totally inappropriate, your first post may have made a little sense. Now you're just grasping at straws and posting just for the attention.
So if they had called you and read a script... - Factchecker

instead of sending you an email - none of this venom would have occurred.

We both know that is not try. The "way they did it" is not the problem. The fact they laid off a few people is the problem.

It stinks, I get it, I have been there - but the only real gripe I can find is they didnt call me, they emailed me.

You said QUOTE: "The hospitals pay for services what they are willing to pay."

Would this be like when consumers (you and I) pay the grocery stores or gas stations or doctors offices what we're willing to pay?

It depends on human beings to make it run. Corporations should not be allowed to run roughshod over humanity with no consequences or responsibility towards society in the name of capitalism.

But that's what has happened in our day. Greed trumps. "It's just business" is the new "In God we Trust."

I do too. At least a few, although at first I assumed it was just bad luck. Even people acting out anonymously need to maintain a public face to hide less appealing aspects of their character behind. I still have sympathy for others who have not chosen to expose themselves here.

Maintain a public face? Why? - nothing left to lose

[ In Reply To ..]
Whose PUBLIC face are you people worried about? Certainly not the people that just lost their jobs! Why should they suffer in silence? Let the world know and if Webmedx doesn't like it maybe next time they can treat their employees like something other than garbage! They are hypocrites who keep right on hiring while simultaneously laying people off! And all MTs NEED TO KNOW IT so they won't be caught in the spider web!

WMX MANAGEMENT TRYING TO PUT A SPIN ON THIS - WE ARE NOT AS DUMB AS YOU THINK WE ARE

[ In Reply To ..]
You are dumber than we thought you were, though, apparently.

Don't worry - it's almost 5 all the suits will be gone soon - Uh...buy bye....

IF layoffs are necessary then stop hiring! - Socialism-no! Reality-yes!

[ In Reply To ..]
If its soooo normal and necessary to lay people off then why the heck are we STILL HIRING!?!?!? Explain that to the labor boards - they'll be asking that question VERY soon!!!!

I've always heard that called "Cleaning House" - Not always a bad thing

[ In Reply To ..]
Many companies do that. "Cleaning House" allows companies to cut out some dead wood and replace it by people with the skills and attitudes that they need to grow their business.

Not a bad thing for YOU because it did not happen to YOU - clean out some suits!

Aren't you just the Queen of Empathy. Or Queen of something. I know a suit when I see one. Too bad we can't clean house of these suits!

skills - gonewebbie

[ In Reply To ..]
Believe me I have the skills, I have done this a very long time, I have no health issues, have not used their insurance as mentioned above, was always working OT and flexing and I was let go, only management knows why they picked the employees they did.

Damage - Susan

[ In Reply To ..]
This is a big stir up and although Factchecker either doesn't know the facts or is a suit (more likely), their reputation is tarnished in a big way. They can continue hiring new MT's in a revolving door situation until the work force simply isn't qualified as seems to be the case with management. Wondering how news worthy this is in these times as I've heard people are going to news sources and labor boards with this one.

2. A phone call from our immediate supervisor was in order. Read from a script or not - human contact with the person we have been working with would have been nice. I know these calls are hard to make. I have had to do it, but I MADE THEM! I did not hide behind an email and then not answer my phone. When you are dealing with people you have to DEAL WITH THEM. Not treat them like the annonymous robots you believe them to be.
3. Yes, we have all switched jobs and I will bet that we gave notice - 2 weeks is the norm. If you don't give notice then you usually have no chance of getting a job with that company again, if you want one that is. You don't burn bridges - but I guess you didn't learn that - or you don't care. MTs are a dime a dozen, right?
5. The company was not always bad but it sure has changed a whole heck of a lot since so many of the management that were let go from MedQuist showed up at Webmedx and brought all of their ideas on how to run a company with them. Did you bother to stop and think why you were let go from MQ? No, I am sure you did not - it was MQs fault, not yours.

Supervisors probably aren't at the level to fire or lay off people - As far as I know

[ In Reply To ..]
It takes a certain level of management to have the authority to fire people or lay off people. Your immediate supervisor probably wouldn't be at that level. Most supervisors I know wouldn't know how to fire someone even if they could.

So sick of the comments left in the FIESA - I do NOT leave random blanks and always take the time to try and research it in the data base by either looking up patient or physician depending on what I am looking for and then when I cannot find it I leave a blank and then at end of day to see their remark that it WAS EASILY found is truly an insult and a smack in the face.  I DID try and find it and maybe they are more experienced then I am or they may have heard of this physician and how is ...

Another Physician's Comments On Using The EMR

Below is a link to a NY Times editorial.  "The advent of electronic medical records has been a boon to patient safety and physician efficiency in many ways. These tricks make it so easy for doctors to document the results of standard exams and conversations with patients that it appears more and more of them are being documented without ever having happened in the first pla ...

Amphion? Any Comments
Apr 28, 2013

Any comments about Amphion? I feel I'm about to get the boot from MModal and have started checking out other ads. Amphion looks okay for what I want - VR and PT employee status, but their requirement about being tech savvy intimidates me. I can download and save a file, but I'm not good at troubleshooting - I'm an old time MT who started out on a typewriter, so this sort of thing is more out of my realm. It looks like they provide IT help only sparingly. Any comments? ...

Threatening Comments By MQ Recruiter

JOB SEARCH, QUESTION AND COMMENTS
Jun 12, 2012

I'm just wondering if any other job seekers have considered putting a limit on the length of time you will accept for a potential client or employer to seriously respond to your submission of a resume or taking their test?  I mean, I do become somewhat skeptical when I respond to an ad or take a test (especially when I've taken a test) that shows some sort of urgency and then I don't hear back from them for a LONG TIME, including no response to followup emails that I send the ...

but this takes the cake.  I have a good notion not to finish my shift.  If I wasn't the sole wage earner, I'd sure quit this very moment.  They start off saying our compensation will be based on skill and competency levels -- right.  Oh and reeking of Obama philosphy, giving us "equal earning opportunity."  Now PTO is calculated on how many hours you work, rather than years with the company or FT status?  Nonproduction hour pay is cut.  I love the tra ...

I Did Not Understand The Comments Regarding Softscript
Jan 15, 2013

I haven't worked at Softscript very long, but had not had the experience others had mentioned regarding the constant emails, sometimes harassing and berating. That's fine, I guess, but if you dont' send one in, you get an email asking why. Then, if ...

M*MODAL COMMENTS IN TN PAPER
Mar 21, 2014

M*Modal participates in the market where pricing has dropped by 35% below what M*Modal needs to sustain. M*Modal has heavy cost structure with debt load and G&A which will prevent it from being cost effective in Transcription Out-sourcing market. M*Modal has also pursued a technology solution model similar to Nuance where clinical documentation review/edit/accuracy function is being transitioned to physicians using Fluency by M*Modal and Dragon 360 by Nuance. The ineffectiveness of this app ...
