If you are a young person just entering the work force, I would recommend following another career path. Transcription has become a dead end job with no future, the number of available jobs has declined drastically in the last several years. If you want to work in health care, there are a lot of other things you can train to do. Transcription pay is production pay. There is no compensation if there isn’t enough work, technical issues or other downtime you might experience. You may not have benefits such as PTO, health insurance or a retirement plan. If your future is important to you, MT would not be the employment to choose.
