How in the world does anyone get to be a dept manager - without being able to do that dept job? SM Posted: Jan 15th, 2019 - 3:06 pm
Other than sucking up or being friends with someone in admin, I really dont know how anyone can oversee a department effectively without knowing exactly how the job is done, the difficulties with it, and having done it themselves.
A general college degree might give you managerial skills to deal with people, but it doesn't prepare you for the issues of every job in the world.
