What cpl rate to ask for as an IC. - Els Posted: Aug 14th, 2018 - 9:29 pm
Help! I recently had to start looking for a new position for the first time in over 6 years. I placed some ads and just got a reply from a pyschologist for work as an IC. He wants to know what my line rate is. I really should have given this more thought before I placed ads, but I didn't. I guess I really didn't expect to get anything legit. The job I've had for the past 6-1/2 years is as an IC for a small hospital, but the work has dwindled away until only the surgeon is still dictating his reports, which most weeks in only a few reports. It's a very small hospital and anything more complicated than a cholecystectomy is sent elsewhere. I started there at 14 cpl and now I'm at 16 cpl. I know that companies are paying much less than when I started working almost 12 years ago, but what would you ask for as an IC? What do companies make per line now?
