You are taxed based on where you perform work.
You are also individually taxed where you are resident, and by the U.S. if you are a citizen.
So in this case you would pay U.S. taxes on the income derived from work performed in the U.S.; and U.S. taxes on your global income because you are resident in the U.S.
You should have no Australian tax liability, unless you are also tax resident in Australia, or perform work while physically present in Australia.
