I know this is very long but decided to bring this reply to the above reply to the top since the original exchange is so far down on the board now. This is in reply to a post asking how I proved my eligibility without a letter with my name on it. Hope this answers that question and information links that will be helpful to others. :)

Though this is a federal program, it is administered by the state. After I had filed for UE, I called my local UE office to file weekly request for payment and to sign up for TAA. I was told that a petition certification was not on the "list" in Missouri, that they had to see about adding it to the "list." I had already been to the Trade Act website and seen the petition information and had the certification number so shared that info, they went to that web site and saw for themselves, said no one in my state had apparently filed on this, they read through the petition (had to tell them that even though it was filed in Georia it was not only for employees in Georgia - they didn't seem to be very familiar with this type of situation), talked to someone else regarding it, and finally recognized that I was eligible and things proceeded from there. I never received an actual separate letter from either Nuance or the DOL but I do remember faxing some pages of the severance package to the UE office at their request (just the pages that had page with my name and the page that stated the reason I was being laid off. It took a little explaining to the UE people I talked to about our remote working situation but they finally understood it. I hope this information is helpful to someone and makes this part of your journey easier. My apologies; I had to do this in text form, not in rich text editor, so the links are not highlighted.
