Getting hired. - Coder2

Can you get hired as a coder without experience? Yes, but it is less likely with just an AAPC course. Even your chances of passing the CPC are only about 4 in 10. Many of their enrollees find the program quite difficult and drop out. They have no instructors, just mentors who can answer some questions. Their courses do not qualify you to even take the AHIMA exams that hospital and remote employers often require and which can get you hired.

If you choose a better course, like Andrews, you will have a 97% chance of passing both the CPC and the CCS, and will have instructors, and will probably graduate and do well on employment testing, so getting a job is more likely.

Employers really, really want experience, but they will take great education.
