Hang in there. The first year was a struggle for me. I seem to have fairly large leaps and then plateaus in productivity. You will start to realise you remember terms more easily, remember names of doctors, keyboard shortcuts are done without thinking, etc. There's no doubt this is a skill that takes time to learn. My personal experience was that year 1 was pretty dismal. I seemed to be working 24 hours a day and making very sad pay cheques. Then it picked up, and now 5 years on I'm making well over minimum wage ($14/hr in Ontario). Try not to lose hope.
